Icons like Tatyana McFadden have helped create a law that promotes the participation of people with disabilities in sports activities. Other sportswomen like Jackeline Rentería break stereotypes on the ring in an initially thought category only for men. Trischa Zorn

Blind from birth, Trischa has become one of the most awarded Paralympians in history. She competed in the last of her seven Games in Athens 2004. The American won 10 gold and two silver medals in the Picornell pool, an achievement only made by those born to be a legend. Zorn has 55 medals (41 golds, nine silvers, and five bronzes). She is the most awarded Paralympic Athlete in history. She has been in the Paralympic Hall of Fame since 2012. The American Swimming Federation created an award named after her to recognize the best swimmers with disabilities each year.

Tatyana McFadden

Born with spina bifida, which causes immobility in her lower extremities, Tatyana has overcome all prejudices and became one of the best track runners. Thanks to her, a law was approved for people with disabilities to participate in professional sports activities. Throughout her career, she has won several gold medals. The athlete has been recognized as one of the best Paralympic runners, obtaining distinctions such as the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award in 2015, and named the year's world athlete with a disability by the Laureus Foundation.

She also received the distinction for Best Athlete with a Disability ESPY (2016) and was featured on the Forbes list as the best female athlete of the 2016 Paralympic Games.

Catherine Ibargüen

Catherine was the first athlete to achieve a double win in the Continental Cup with a triple jump with a mark of 14.76 m, 50 cm, and a long jump with a record of 6.93 m. Ibargüen has won everything in the triple jump. She has won Gold medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics, 2015 World Athletics World Cup in China, and Pan American, South American, and Central American Games, becoming a dominant player in the Diamond League. At the 2012 London Olympics, she had achieved a silver medal. To round out a successful career, Catherine was chosen the World's Best Athlete of 2018.

Jackeline Rentería

Jackeline Rentería became the first Colombian female athlete to achieve a medal in two Olympics. She has represented Colombia as a fighter in several sports jousts, achieving excellent results such as several gold medals in international competitions. Her strength during combats is impressive.
