Karol G Will Receive Billboard’s Spirit of Hope: Female Empowerment Beyond Music

Colombian urban singer Karol G will receive the Billboard Spirit of Hope award at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will be presented on October 5 at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables (Miami-Dade), Florida.

“Carolina Giraldo Navarro, also known as Karol G, has left an indelible mark on the music industry with her talent and impact on female empowerment,” the organization highlighted in a statement.

Karol G beyond music: her philanthropic work

In 2022, Karol G created the Con Cora Foundation, with the aim of promoting the economic, social, psychological and artistic development of disadvantaged women. Her philanthropic work has been outstanding, and now she will be recognized with the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award.

“I feel grateful for this special recognition. My commitment to the Con Cora Foundation is a fundamental part of my life and I am proud to be able to help the women who need it most,” said Karol G, according to the organization’s statement.

Karol G’s musical career

Recently, the Colombian managed to place a single at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts with the song “TQG”, a collaboration with Shakira, which ranked in the top 10, they added.

With her fourth album, Mañana Se Bonito (2023), Karol G is the first woman to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with an album in Spanish.

Her musical career includes five studio albums, more than 70 singles, and multiple collaborations with prominent Latin American artists.

On August 11, Karol G published her latest album Mañana will be beautiful (Bichota Season) to coincide with his tour of the United States, which started in Las Vegas.
