Unmissable 2021 Pop Albums in Your Favorite Playlist

There are plenty of pop singers' tracks playing on the radio, but only a few of them are making history.

There are plenty of pop singers' tracks playing on the radio, but only a few of them are making history.

From young talent to more experienced musicians, all of them share one thing in common: an exceptional talent for songwriting. Here are the best pop albums of 2021 so far that have made our quarantine days more enjoyable.

Olivia Rodrigo: Sour

After the success of her debut single, "drivers license," fans were excited to listen to more of Olivia's work, and she didn't disappoint. Her album "Sour" recently debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart. Some of the best tracks on her album are "deja vu" and "good 4 u." With this project, Olivia opens up about her breakup, and through honest lyrics, she presents herself as a vulnerable and authentic 17-year-old girl (the age she was when she wrote her greatest hits.) Now that she turned 18, she is ready to keep making history in the music industry as the new pop star of this generation.

Billie Eilish: Happier Than Ever

Billie just announced on her Instagram that her second album, "Happier Than Ever," will be out on July 30th. She is wrapped in a white sweater in the pic, with her new platinum blonde hair and a single tear streaming down her face. Billie's new album will mark her second studio album following her successful 2019 record "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" as she previously credited having so much downtime due to the COVID-19 lockdown for getting her into the studio and finishing the album. The singer recently released her song "Lost Cause," which focuses on finally breaking free after realizing someone's true colors.

Taylor Swift: Fearless (Taylor's Version)

Taylor Swift dropped her first full re-released album, aka "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" after the years-long battle with Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records' Scott Borchetta over her music's masters. One of the most outstanding songs on this album is "We Were Happy." Keith Urban sings the background vocals on this track. While the ballad is sonically stunning in typical "Fearless" fashion, it's also deeply heartbreaking when listening to the lyrics. In the song, Taylor sings about a relationship that didn't work out the way she'd hoped. The album reached No. 1 on the US iTunes Albums Chart in less than 10 minutes after being released.

Lana Del Rey: Chemtrails Over The Country Club

"Chemtrails Over The Country Club" is the seventh studio album from Lana Del Rey. Like her other work, this new album is a cinematic affair ripe with what can only be described as 'vibes.' "Chemtrails" is the follow-up to "Norman Fucking Rockwell!" which was one of the indie-pop fans' favorite albums of 2019. Her new work has 11 songs, 10 of which were produced by Jack Antonoff and one produced by Rick Nowels. Lana is considered one of North America's best songwriters, so fans can always expect honest and touching lyrics from her.
