The Pandemic Transformed Learning by Providing New Resources

Online resources as part of the teaching and learning strategy in these times of pandemic began to move in an agile way not only in specialized search engines but also in mobile platforms.

Online resources as part of the teaching began to move in mobile platforms to mediate the teaching and learning dynamics in a certain way, both in virtual classrooms and in traditional ones.

In 2020, many educational centers closed their doors as a result of the global pandemic, but immediately, a series of digital tools began to appear, or better to be promoted and spread, to face the negative effects that the virus was beginning to cause COVID-19.

But, as in every threat, there is an opportunity, aspects such as quarantine, motivated people to organize and conceive technology with much more human sense.

The Spanish José Lozano, one of the most experienced figures in the world of eLearning, Co-founder of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), the world's first virtual university and founder of AEFOL, specifies that there are three groups of digital resources: Platforms or LMS (learning management system), present in virtual fields, which facilitate online learning; Apps, these are mobile applications, which can be used through cell phones; and finally, online and digital tools, very useful in classrooms, and that allow teachers to optimize and make classes with their students more attractive.

For the expert, the strategy to take better advantage of these resources at this juncture that the pandemic brought with it is "to seek practical utility to solve training needs at all times," he adds that technology by itself does not contribute anything, if it is not used for a specific teaching purpose, always at the service of the person and their continuous learning.

For him, filling the classrooms with technology does not mean that the student learns more, but, if it is used at the right and appropriate time when the student needs it: "It transforms learning, transforms education and makes it much more attractive, fun and effective."

In this sense, it is important that governments guarantee Internet access, in order to achieve the best technology in virtual classrooms, face-to-face, and online campuses, especially in situations of this type. For him, the continuous training of teachers is important, in order to promote the entrepreneurial initiative of students and achieve an authentic revolution in education, in accordance with everything that the 21st century brings.

To achieve efficient use of these online educational resources, it is necessary to take into account a series of skills, for example, Blockchain, critical thinking, analysis, design, writing, reading, management of audiovisual tools, innovation, creativity, among others.

It is worth mentioning the case of the Coursera platform, which, according to the Observatory of Educational Innovation at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, captivated more than ten million users, and became a strategy for many professionals to access its courses. Also noteworthy are the free online courses -MOOCs- at this time they became facilitators, or better mediators, to improve professional skills.

As a result of the confinement to which many teachers and students were forced, since last year due to the pandemic, it could be said that the use of digital resources and tools was implemented in a greater and better way, in order to be part of modern, effective, continuous and attractive learning for students in this 21st century.

"All this makes the classes a forum for the exchange of knowledge, quite proactive and very participatory experiences, in terms of the use of digital resources, which should be available to everyone. that are necessary and available to everyone. You learn by doing and technology easily helps to achieve it."

A particular case is that of IEBS, an online business school for Entrepreneurs, which is characterized by using technology in the best way, always focusing on the needs of professionals who carry out their studies there. "This center has developed its own virtual campus, which is renewed every year and includes in all its classes the tools and resources of the subject that are taught, establishing agreements with companies."
