Doja Cat
Doja Cat, the winner of Push Best New Artist at the 2020 VMAs, hosted in a charismatic way the 2021 VMAs. She also performed her songs "Been Like This" and "You Right" while dancing in the air. The TikTok viral singer impressed fans with her acrobatic skills while flying around the stage held up by wires. She took home the award Best Collaboration for her song "Kiss Me More" ft. SZA and Best Art Direction for "Best Friend" with Saweetie.
Camila Cabello
The singer performed her latest single, "Don't Go Yet," which has been pretty popular on social media, especially for its spicy dance. The '80s themed performance got the audience dancing and enjoying rhythms from Latin music. Recently, Camila walked the red carpet to celebrate the premiere of her new film "Cinderella." This project is the acting debut of the acclaimed Cuban-born American singer. Another sweet moment of the night was when Camila briefly introduced her boyfriend Shawn Mendes before his "Summer of Love" performance during the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards. There's no doubt that the couple slayed their respective presentations.
Chlöe
Following the steps of her mentor, Beyoncé, Chlöe graced the VMA stage with her debut as a solo artist while performing her new song, "Have Mercy." The talented young star was introduced on stage by her sister Halle Bailey, who is also part of the duo Chloe x Halle. The sisters are signed by Queen B. Chlöe's music video has over 8 million views on YouTube. It's no surprise that she captived the audience with all of her dance moves.

Olivia Rodrigo
There were a lot of VMA performances worth catching this year, but Olivia Rodrigo's high-energy prom-themed rendition of "Good 4 U" is definitely at the top of fans' list. Not only did Olivia's performance almost break the internet as it went viral, but she also literally broke the camera lens at the end, in true angsty Olivia fashion.
Olivia took home three "moon men" at the VMAs for Push Performance, Best New Artist, and the much-coveted award for Song of The Year, and she was pretty taken aback while accepting it. The young songwriter went on to say, "This has been the most magical year of my life," before adding, "I want to dedicate this award to all of the other girls who write songs on their bedroom floor."
Normani
The former member of Fifth Harmony performed her latest release, "Wild Side," with a big group of dancers. She didn't miss the opportunity to recreate an iconic Janet Jackson dance moment at the end of her presentation. Normani successfully did Jackson's signature lap dance. Many fans are waiting with excitement for the "Motivation" singer soloist album debut. Her performance at the VMAs was one of the most eye-catching yet simple of the night.
Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys paid tribute to New York playing her iconic Jay-Z collab "Empire State of Mind." With a piano, she sang with the same intimacy as a private show and captivated the audience with every note. The famous artist also performed her new single "LALA (Unlocked)," with a group of dancers all dressed beautifully.
